Been doing this long enough that I have started to look for unique bracket formats and scoring styles along with the ones I have done for years.
Up to two brackets. $10 per bracket. Traditional format. 1018 participants in 2022. The biggest one I know.
The names I recognized in the Top 10% of the 2022 bracket: Craig Bradler (36); Katrina Morgan (55); and Brian Obert (58).
Friend of a friend runs this one. I like the format so am sharing it. $10 per bracket. Enter as many times as you like. The contest is for the entire tournament including "play in". Entries are due by 10:00 am MDT Thursday, unless you’re taking teams in the play-in games, then your entry is due before that team’s game tips off. Unique format.
The Game - Pick nine teams in the NCAA tournament, including First 4 games.
The Goal - Accumulate the most actual points scored by your teams during the entire tournament.
The Catch - Your nine teams have to meet the following criteria:
Friendly faces in the money: Jug 2nd, Brian 3rd, Andy 4th.
Up to three brackets. $10 per bracket. 98 brackets in 2022.
Craig Bradler Wins. Brian Obert takes 2nd.
Up to two brackets per player, $20 per bracket.
Front loaded scoring makes early rounds more important when making selections. Points earned as follows:
Closest guess to total points in Championship is tiebreaker.
We had 6 brackets. All paid. Pool of $120. Brian earns 65% or $78. Andy earns 35% or $42.
Jug and I are going head to head here. Been an interesting experience. Like the change of pace.
